Hattat Group entered the tractor business after the license agreement signed in 1976 with Ford Motor Co. under the name Hema Traktör.

During the time leading to the preparation of the production facilities, complete FORD tractors were imported and until 1980, the company supplied 6200 Ford tractors of various models for the agriculture of Turkey.

First production started in March 1980 in the factory located in Kayseri, and until the1992 when license agreement ended, more than 16.000 Ford tractors had been sold. Due to the expiry of the contract signed with the Ford Mo.Co, the production of Ford tractors was ceased in 1992.

Hema Endüstri started talks with John Deere in 1997 and by the end of 1999, the two companies agreed on founding a new company. John Deere Hattat (JDH) company started building the production facilities and in the meantime began producing and selling JOHN DEERE tractors in the temporary production facilities. As the result of disagreements between the two companies, the joint JDH was shut down and by the early 2001, the production of John Deere tractors was ceased.

It was decided that a company to be founded under Hattat Holding to focus on Agricultural Machinery and

HATTAT TARIM MAKİNALARI SANAYİ VE TİCARET ANONİM ŞİRKETİ,

was founded on 16.04.1998.

The company’s foundation was announced on the April 22, 1998 issue of the Turkish Trade and entered the business life by the registration number 393593-341175.

The primary objective of the company according to its master agreement is the following:

“It is to manufacture and get manufactured vehicles, machines and agricultural machines used in the agricultural industry and farming sector such as tractors and harvesters and any of their equipment, supplies, spare parts and accessories. Related to this issue, it is to open agencies and dealerships domestically and abroad in order to trade, export and import these as the authorized dealer and to act as a local and foreign distributor and agency.”

Shareholders of the company are Mr Mehmet Hattat and his family.
